Prepare the Loaf
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, milk, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Mix the ingredients by hand until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of the prepared loaf pan.
- Place the three hard-boiled eggs in a single row down the center of the meat.
- Top with the remaining meat mixture, pressing down firmly to seal the eggs inside the loaf.
Glaze and Bake
- In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and garlic powder to create the Best Meatloaf Glaze.
- Spread half of the glaze mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then remove from the oven to spread the remaining glaze on top.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to ensure it stays juicy.
Notes
For the best results, use 85% lean ground beef to ensure a moist texture without excessive grease. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze individual slices for easy meal prep later.
